About Shihpoos

Shihpoos are a hybrid designer dog breed created by crossing a Shih Tzu and a Poodle. They are affectionate, playful, outgoing, and intelligent companions that make excellent family pets. These unique designer dogs come in an array of sizes, depending on their parents' size—from tiny teacup sizes to smaller, medium versions. History

The Shih-Poo is a hybrid dog that is said to have originated in the 1980s or 90s. It is a combination of two popular toy breeds: the Shih Tzu and the Toy Poodle. The idea behind creating a designer breed such as this was to create a hypoallergenic canine companion who could provide love and companionship with minimal shedding. Since then, the breed has become known for its intelligence, adaptability, and affectionate nature. Although there isn't any one person or breeder associated with being the "creator" of the Shih-Poo, it has undeniably been gaining in popularity since its inception—and rightfully so!

Temperament

Shih-Poos are a bundle of energy and make great furry friends for older kids who know how to play nice. Not all Shih-Poos feel the same way about strangers; some may take their time getting comfortable, while others will greet everyone with warm welcomes.
